This site is built for clarity, restraint, and systems that age well. It makes room for ideas, experience, and work to speak without unnecessary distraction.
Layout, structure, and visual systems were made for this site rather than assembled from templates.
The design language, covering typography, color, spacing, and interface patterns, lives in one shared set of styles. Every page draws from the same system, so the site can change over time without losing coherence.
Structured records such as experience, publications, presentations, interviews, patents, and honors live in CMS collections. The CV, the Background page, and the archive pages all read from the same source, so each fact is entered once.
One family, three voices. Typography choices favor legibility and tone over novelty.
The palette is limited and mostly neutral. Contrast guides attention instead of decorating it. A single lime accent marks orientation and emphasis, and is used sparingly.
For many years this site ran on Dapper, an open-source content management system Mark created and maintained for structured content, versioned publishing, and long-lived personal sites. It remains available on GitHub for anyone to use.
About Dapper →The site moved to Webflow to simplify editing, improve content workflows, and remove the overhead of maintaining a custom CMS. The time goes to writing, thinking, and building instead of tooling.
A new visual system across every page: IBM Plex throughout, a slate and lime palette, and pages organized around clear sections. The CV became a complete, navigable record.
This site is built to last. It favors coherence over completeness and clarity over volume.
